My father always told me "son don't do something half right, even if you are never caught .... you will know you never did your best!"
Please keep in mind, if correctly done you will probably never have to have the same surface refinished again in your life! Also keep in mind some guy can apply epoxy to your bathtub for $150.00 and make more profit then I can by doing it right for $300.00 \\ So the temptation is there for guys to do a cheap job for quick money. However, those are the guys that are here today and gone tomorrow. The problem is there will be others to take their place as soon as they fold.
That man in the mirror knows everything about you doesn't he? True bathtub refinishing is NOT the process of bonding a surface onto another. That is apartment grade work, not residential. Residential grade involves penetrating the old surface with deep scratches and pores on every square inch of the old surface. Then hand rubbing a molecular bonding agent called fusion lock into the old surface. This fusion lock will have a chemical reaction to the synthetic porcelain finish coat so it begins to immediately set up. This locks that new surface not onto, but into the old surface. I allow that to cure about 1 hours then wipe on the fusion lock one more time followed by an additional 5 -7 coats (or 2mil.) thick finish coat on top of what was fused into the old surface. The bottom line is your new surface is chemically welded into the old surface then bonded into the first 3 layers that were applied. I still own and operate Fusion Finish myself! I bring my 22 years of experience with me to each job I am hired for. When I finish with a refinishing job I want you to enjoy it for at the very least 15 years before needing to have it refinished again. I know with simple basic care you will get 20+ years from that surface! Bathtub Refinishing Dallas
