Dallas Bathtub Refinishing.
It was a Blessed day for me today I was doing Bathtub Refinishing in Mesquite and It was a very nice young lady I was working for she had just retired from the health industry for a corporation in Dallas and while I was refinishing her Bathtub we were talking about how much this old world has changed even in the last 20 - 30 years. I was telling her about my wife's recent wreck and how everything had been so crazy we found out the Girl that hit my wife had a $50,000 limit on the insurance policy and with my wife's paralysis and on going medical care we have already capped that out. So after all is said and done there is a very, very good chance of this entire thing costing money and what my wife has went through I would not wish on my worst enemy. As we were talking she had a friend call from Garland and she said John, do you do Bathtub Refinishing in Garland? I said yes ma'am. I ended up doing her Bathtub Refinishing job in Mesquite. Then left Mesquite and did her friends Bathtub Refinishing Job in Garland.
The Acrylic, Fiberglass and cultured marble bathtubs are easy to crack because of the light weight material involved in making them. Once the surface is upgraded with synthetic porcelain and reinforced with fiberglass resin it becomes a stronger, more durable surface and structure than what you could go purchase. Platinum Package refinishing with the ultra high gloss look and dry to the touch already! Even with the bathroom on the dark side I think the gloss showed very well in these pictures! Dallas Bathtub Refinishing
I have been to The Colony Twice in the last few months and I have to say not only is it an absolutely Gorgeous city but the people I have met there have been absolute blessings to me. The Gentleman I did work for today was one of the all time nicest guys I have worked for. His wife and he were very hospitable and I enjoyed being able to not only work for them but just to have a conversation with a couple of nice people. I guess I appreciated it so much because I have been really concentrating on my wife and her doctor appointments since her wreck on 6-11-14 that it really just felt good to be able to get away, do a job and to be able to that for complete strangers that make you feel like an old friend is a real blessing!
I met a great guy today that owned a rental property in The Colony
Today was therapy for me! I was so blessed the Gentleman I met out in the Colony had a gorgeous Town home he was renting out and someone had painted the bathtub with what he and I both thought was some type of D.I.Y. epoxy kit. I was a little embarrassed that it had me fooled too because with 22 years experience I thought I had seen it all. This tub was painted with wall paint. Not just wall paint but thinned down so much the old surface was visible in parts. This is usually a tell tale sign of Epoxy D.I.Y. kits because they tend to separate and leave 'thin' areas behind. I put a small amount of lacquer thinner on a rag and wiped over one 8 inch area and the paint immediately bubbled and the perforated along the top and then folded down. It was a 1,2,3 process that I had never seen before. So I just stripped all that mess off using nothing more then lacquer thinner and cleaned the tub up then started my process from scratch. The reason I felt today was like therapy is because I LOVE refinishing! It is like an instant makeover, and since my wife's wreck on 6-11 she has lost feeling on her right side so I have switched my focus from scheduling work to just taking care of her and working with our attorney on getting her into different specialist. It felt so good to just be in a vacant home, by myself and work .... even though the old painted surface threw me off for a minute it made it even that much more rewarding to make the bathtub look new again!
If you live in the Dallas area Now is the Time To Save on Refinishing
What a blessed day this was! The bathtub in the video below needed help. This was a very nice couple that needed help with bathtub refinishing job in Dallas that had seen better days!
What separates Fusion Finish from the competition? The Fusion Finish Process is not the 'normal' bathtub, tile and shower refinishing process. The Fusion Finish process NEVER involves paint. I will penetrate the old surface by etching into the old surface. This is done without the use of dangerous acids that were used years ago. However, it achieves the same result which is exposing the pores in the old surface that is covered by the Glaze. After this I apply the Fusion Lock molecular bonding formula to the surface and hand rub it into those microscopic scratches and exposed pores so when I apply the synthetic porcelain finish coat it will melt into the fusion lock molecular bonding agent and then each layer melts into next so the end result is a surface that has the look and feel of porcelain! | Refinishing for Acrylic | Cultured Marble and Fiberglass is a little different from the refinishing for Porcelain and Cast Iron. The reason is if the original surface flexes a little under stress then the new surface will need to take that flex also or it will crack and break over a short time. For this reason I use a Fiberglass resin mixed with the synthetic porcelain formulated especially for Fiberglass and Acrylic bathtubs. This coating will flex over 1/4 of an inch without breaking so it will not be too brittle for use on flexible surfaces. Other refinishers want to use a 1 product sysytem, then blame the customer when it breaks or cracks!
The Spring of the year going into the summer months is a terrific time to save on Bathtub, Tile and Shower Refinishing. While families are going on Vacation, Getting ready for school to be out, maybe even getting ready for Graduation that becomes our slow time.
Slow time means a couple of things for the consumer.
#1) You can save a little money. (Which is always good)
#2) You can get an job completed without the worry of the contractor having to rush! I am speaking of work around your home in general because as the owner / operator of Fusion Finish I can promise you I never rush any job. In fact in any given month their will be someone that needs a rush job and I have to tell them I am booked. That's because I never rush, Never try to meet a quota and don't over book my schedule.
Bathtub refinishing is much more then making your old tub look new again. Professional refinishing services seal off the lead that leaches into the bath water caused by worn bathtubs. Most people don't know that porcelain bathtubs contain lead. However, once refinished a new glaze coat is chemically welded into and onto the the old surface in a 1 - 2 punch that seals off the dangerous lead.

Honestly, This was one of the toughest jobs I have ever done. However, the Gentleman was so nice it made this a very enjoyable experience. I honored the original quote even though I had to end up making (3) trips.
Bathtub cracks are not usually this difficult to repair. This man was in a spot because it was a custom size and finding a replacement was not really an option. However, I think you will see that he was very happy with the completed project!
Another blessed day. This Bathtub was a little more work then I thought it was going to be and had to actually make a 2 day trip out of it. However, the Gentleman was very nice and I was able to get the repair looking real good. When the tub cracked several of the cracks raised up by over an inch. Some were off from one side to the other by almost a 1/4". However, I was able to get it done after 2 days and many hours of hard work. Bathtub Refinishing, Dallas, Forney
I learned that appearances can be very deceiving I knew this tub was going to need some extra work and It was a little more than I bargained for. The epoxy coating had been poured on over half an inch thick to cover the rust and previously repaired hole. I was able to keep the quote at the original price. The young lady was very appreciative. I had to use a power saw to cut through the epoxy and strip it back. It came off in a chunk about 2ft. x 2ft. I then prepped the rusted area so it would not continue to rust and then resealed the existing patch just to be safe. After that I etched the tub and tile and applied 7 coats of synthetic porcelain. I did warn the customer the tub floor would not be perfectly smooth, but it would last and be safe. She said "Whatever, you do I will be fine with". I smoothed it out better then I thought I could and the end result was a gorgeous Tub and tile restoration that is sealed tight, looks great, will last for many, many years and the grout and caulk lines are sealed so the never mildew! Bathtub refinishing for more than great looks!
We all think of 2 questions when it comes to bathtub refinishing.
Absolutely perfect day today! I was blessed with work and that's always great.Today was also perfect weather which always makes the project I am working on much more enjoyable! I did far better then just bathtub and tile refinishing.other refinishers can refinishing your bathtub. However, I will fusion finish your bathtub. This means the surface is etched then chemically cleaned, after that the fusion lock molecular bonding agent is applied in 2 coats, then i applied 7 coats of synthetic porcelain so the finished result is below in a before and after video
Today's project was a Bathtub, tile, sink and bathtub all wrapped up into one job. Above is a Before / During and After video. I want to thank them for allowing me into their gorgeous home and I think they will get many years of enjoyment from the refinishing!

I had refinished this tub about 2 weeks ago but the tile guys came in soon after I finished and did not protect the tub. It had grout ground into the coating and they had really did a number on the tub. I actually went out there with the intention of touching it up at no charge but once I seen it I knew it was going to be a major job. The reason I say it was a blessing is because the man told me he knew it was not a warranty issue. The tile guys did not even finish after they seen how bad the tub was messed up. I have found that if you are honest with people and just do your job. More times than not people will pay you and not take advantage of you. They are well aware that it takes money just to roll out of bed in the morning I think most of the issues come about with some of the younger generation that simply don't know how to look people in the eyes and just be honest! Personally, I have found that being honest and respectful bridges any gap such as age, race, religion, culture, political differences just honesty and respect for the other person.
